Today, we went with Olivia, Ashley, and Evangeline and brought a sack lunch. The kids decorated a cookie along with playing with their favorites.

Story time at the library
We visited Hewitt library for their storytime twice this summer. Caden didn't enjoy it very much bc I think it was a little above his level. We will try again next year. This was a magic man.

My Little Play Place
We visited this great new place in Hewitt. It is only for children up to five. There are so many neat toys and climbers and she always has a craft out.

The activity was a baking soda/water sensory bin. So cool!
We even had to go home and make some ourselves!

Kiddieland
We visited this Waco tradition today. Both Brad and I have childhood memories here. Perfect place for kids! Also might have Caden's party there one day. The carousel has been replaced and is brand new. The super slide, which was so popular in our day, has gotten old and rusty. 😔 Sad day!
First, we rode the train, of course!
He rode the carriages, carousel, and boats.

Vacation Bible school post 1
Caden enjoyed a week of Vacation Bible school at CLC. The theme was Kingdom Rock. His favorite part was the end when all came together and sang songs!
Enjoying his first station-a science experiment and lesson with Ms. Amy. In this lesson, they each received little flipper toys they assembled and used as an object lesson.
Outside game time--Caden wasn't a huge fan. :)
Drama--the kids saw a drama about a Bible character played out.
Day 2--Caden and little Elijah sat together a lot. In this lesson, the kids made a water bottle and put a little guy inside so when you squeeze it, he rises to the top.
Each evening, they were supposed to journal a God moment. In several of the prompts, Caden mentioned Mya's name. 😄

NASA
We went to NASA Space Center our second day.
They had an awesome play area for the little ones! The largest playscape I'd ever seen! I was very nervous though, because there were several exits and sooooo many kids. I had a mini heart attack once when Caden didn't appear for awhile, but was up in the tunnels.
They also had a hands-on space exploration area where kiddos could do experiments with gravity, etc. Below, Daddy is building his own spacecraft with Legos.
Caden even got to experiment with a mini rocket launch.

The very cool ride that Caden and Daddy went on. It was a type of virtual space ride.

Inside a space capsule.
Exploring inside if a space shuttle.
Remembering the Columbia disaster
The beach
On the third day, we went to a beach about 30 minutes away in Galveston. It was called Stewart Beach. Caden loved feeding the sea gulls his goldfish crackers and even chased them!
Caden and I had so much fun in the water! We ran against the waves, sat down in the water and dug in the sand, danced, and tried to catch the waves.
Daddy joins in on the fun!
Digging holes and even making a small castle.

Kemah-Aquarium restaurant
I had heard about this neat restaurant from others so was so excited to find that it was here in Kemah! Gigi, Caden and I tried fish and chips while Brad stuck with land fare--hamburger.
It was a split level restaurant with a large clear aquarium tube tank going up through the middle.
We enjoyed seeing all kinds of saltwater fish! The largest one was bigger than Caden!

The Circus Comes to Town
We went to the circus today and I wasn't sure what Caden would think about all of the noise. Caden had gotten a free ticket from the library reading club and we had really good seats. Caden didn't enjoy it because it was too loud. We managed to squeeze out a few bits of fun from the experience though:
Caden watching nervously from our seat:
HIs favorite part--cotton candy!
We bought a bag of cotton candy with this awesome circus hat! Caden wears it well.
