A balloon bath
I put about four balloons in Caden's bath tub tonight and he loved it. Pinterest has a lot of great bath tub ideas. He doesn't like to get in the tub, but once he's in, he doesn't want to get out!

Family Fun Fest
This weekend we went to a Family Fun Fest at the Convention Center.
Caden enjoyed climbing and looking at the service vehicles:
The fire truck--lately he loves the show "Fireman Sam"
The bulldozer--Caden said "like Scoop on Bob Builder!"
This one was just his size!
A little jumping action
Caden was obsessed with seeing these characters! He is not like most kids his age who are afraid. He had so much fun!
I chronicled his love affair with Minnie in these pictures:

Velcro Blocks
I saw this idea on another blog awhile back and finally decided to take on the project myself. I had been searching for prices on these blocks, and they are 40-50 dollars! I easily made them myself by attaching sticky velcro to the ends. Caden liked playing with them for awhile, but has since gotten bored with them.

Velcro sticks
I made some velcro sticks for Caden from jumbo popsicle sticks and stick-on velcro dots. He enjoyed making shapes and some letters with Mommy!

Paintin' in the tub
I concocted a little shaving cream paint with food coloring and let Caden have at it! He looooves it and asks for "paint like Bob Builder" every night for bath.

Busy bag activity-frogs
With the inspiration of Pinterest, I have made a couple of busy bags for Caden. I only take these out when I want to spend special time with him, or while I am busy cooking. One of the activities is with my froggy manipulatives again. I placed them in a bag with an ice tray. He placed each one into a hole (I had exactly enough in the bag). This teaches one-to-one correspondence. We also played the Montessori "show me" game. I asked him to show me a yellow, blue, green frog. We played again, where he first was instructed to put all the yellow in, then green, etc. This activity was very engaging for Caden.
"Hmmm...this one takes some thought." He actually did very well! I'm so proud of him!

Montessori work-spooning
I introduced a spooning work for Caden using my frog counters.
I found this nifty spooning contraption among my teacher things:
These frogs were purchased at Mardel and come in a plastic can of 48. They come with strings for beading work as well! They are very versatile.
Caden was interested in the spoon for a little bit, but later moved to using his fingers to transfer.

Brown Bear puzzle
I have been pinning a lot of ideas from Pinterest lately, and I am determined to use them! I found this cute little "Brown Bear" game that I printed out for Caden. It is a matching game where he matches the backs to the fronts of each animal in the story. I started out with just 3 out of the 10 so he wouldn't get overwhelmed, and he did great! Here is the link to the game:

All done! He always says this proudly after finishing a task.

Going on a pumpkin walk
Caden and I went for a walk in the wagon looking for pumpkins a few weeks ago. We pointed out all of the decorative ones we saw.
At one point, I put Punkin into the wagon and Caden was so excited. It didn't last long though! Punkin soon jumped out.
