The cousins came down the week after our break.  Theirs was later.  We enjoyed a few days with them.  Caden and Zida are very close.  :)

The kids enjoyed rough and tumble as always.

Spring break 8-The lake

Caden and I met a classmate, Alex and his mom, at the Lake Waco beach today.  I'm not much of a can of this beach, but I'm glad we went.  The boys played on a large playscape and then played in the sand a little.

It wasn't too long before they wanted to go out by the water.  I didn't want Caden getting in the water--he was still getting over  his sickies.  They had lots of fun throwing clumps of dirt in the lake.

Spring break 7-train museum

We went to Temple to the Train museum.  Upstairs there were a few model trains and displays with switches.  Caden loves anything with switches!  The bell was his favorite.  He was also fascinated with the large headlight .

These pictures were taken in a little playroom upstairs.  They also show some of the displays.  Caden said the red lantern was his favorite.
There were real trains outside that we could climb on an look at.
Caden loved ringing the bell.
There was an AWESOME playground called Whistle Stop nearby.

Spring break 4-Legoland

Our next stop at the mall was Legoland!  The line was super-long, so we let Caden play on the little carousel.

This was in the Lego waiting area.  So cool!  There were neat things to do while you wait.  Caden made a Lego pattern.
This is the "Lego factory."  The guy taught how Legos are made with a machine.  The result was a free souvenir Lego!
Lego creations-Ranger Stadium, Texas Fair, downtown Dallas and a farm.
The playground was a fave!  There were giant Legos to build with.
Racing the Lego car down ramps
Shopping at the Lego store.  They cleverly placed it to where we have to walk through it to exit.  This was a Legos machine (like a snack machine) where you could buy your favorite pieces.

Spring Break 5-Rainforest Cafe

We went to Rainforest Cafe in the mall after our Legoland and Aquarium adventure.  We met Brad's aunt, uncle and cousins there.  Caden wasn't as excited as I thought.  He was a little intimidated by the spontaneous outbursts from the animals in the restaurant.  I finally got a little creative and said, "The animals won't get move from their spots or they will get a spanking from the people who work here!"  Not sure where that came from, but it seemed to work a little.  :)

Caden and Daddy next to the gorilla that sat near our table.

Spring Break part 6- mall train

While at Grapevine Mills mall, we saw a cute little train making its rounds.  We found the train stop because of course Caden was begging to ride.  We rode around part of the mall.

Spring break 3-the Aquarium

We all headed up to Grapevine to the mall.  On the way, we stopped to eat at Brahms in Hillsboro.  Their peppermint ice cream is my fave!

Caden surprised me by actually eating his burger!
At the Aquarium in the Grapevine Mills mall.  Caden wasn't as enthused as I thought he'd be, but he was still a little sickly.
I thought the shot of him with his daddy was cool because you could only see their shadow.  Caden's all about shadows these days.
We got to see a sting ray among many sea life!  Our guy loved putting his head in the bubble.
Digging in the sand for shells was fun.  The jellyfish were the highlight of our visit.  Caden still talks about jellyfish and how "they sting!"

Overall, the aquarium was fun.  It was super crowded though because of spring break, and we had to practically fight for a place to see the fish.  Next time we visit an aquarium will not be during peak season!  Remind me that I said that please.  :)

Spring break post 2

Brad and I took Caden to the museum for the robot exhibit.
We then visited the Indian room and puzzle room
The marble race, a super cool ball maze and a drawing from the Spirograph.
They were showing "Wall-E" in their theater but Caden soon lost interest.  :)

Spring Break post 1

My little guy got sick at the start of spring break, so we started out the week at the doctor's office.  It's the kind of stuff he's been getting frequently this year-bad cough, runny nose, fever. I hope it's just because he's adjusting to being with so many kids at school and next year will be better.  We were just out for two days out of the week, so not TOO bad.

Playing in the little house.  His absolute FAVORITE thing about the doctor.  This little house is the reason we no longer get upset when going to the doctor.

Housebound but having fun!  Brad took the week off too, so we taught Caden a rousing version of Cootie!  He was more interested in skipping the dice part and just building his cootie.
