The Easter basket we got for Caden contained sidewalk chalk, a scripture cd, and a caboose for his Thomas set.

Easter eggs with Mya

We went to Lakewood Christian for their Easter egg hunt.  This makes our second year.  Mya attended daycare there a year ago.

Such a stinker--the first pic he refused to smile or pose!  The second was after he saw other kiddos posing for cameras.
Caden liked the playground best and didn't hunt eggs for long. Afterward, he dyed an egg orange

Easter eggs at Mammaw's

Mammaw had her Easter egg hunt indoors. It was coooold outside!   Candy was hidden inside cute vintage eggs along with the typical cartoon craze eggs.

Examining the loot.  All good!!
Adorable bunny cake that Mammaw has made every year since Brad was little.

Egg Hunt at Mya's School

On Saturday before Easter, Caden and Gigi and I went to Lakeview Christian Church's Easter Egg Hunt.  This is where Mya goes to day-care.

Trying to get a shot of the two of us before the fun begins
Waiting for the egg hunt to begin...
Waiting so patiently.  He said, "Eggs on ground!"
Finding eggs
He was more excited about playing on the playground after the hunt!

Wheee!

"Mommy...sit down...chair!"
He loved the Easter bunny!  He even asked to visit him again, but the bunny booked it inside where it was cool!

We put Caden's plant by the window and intend to water it until the grass grows

Caden's Easter basket

On Sunday morning, Caden awoke to find his Easter basket from Mommy and Daddy.  I didn't want anything outlandish, so I found a cute little basket that can be used in his room for storing books, etc.  He was excited to see what was inside!

Checking out the goods
He didn't care for the marshmallow Peeps.  I ate them for him.  ;) We mommas do what we can for our kiddos, even though it's hard.  LOL!
A peep inside--He got sidewalk chalk, a fun Easter cup and Peeps.  I also found a Beginner Bible with paper pages for when he's ready to move on.  He has one now that is a board book.

Easter at the Howards

Before Easter dinner, we went to Nana's to hunt the eggs Caden and I had dyed.

Found one!!

 All done!

We had dinner at Rhonda's and her family.  We missed Papaw and Brad though.  Papaw was out preaching and Brad was working.

Caden kept feeling Uncle Royce's fuzzy face!

Dying Eggs

Caden and I dyed eggs on Saturday to prepare for his egg hunt at Nana's house.  I boiled the eggs according to the directions on Pinterest, and they turned out perfectly when eaten!  The yolk stayed yellow and not the yucky gray.

We dyed our eggs using Kool-Ade packs.  I put 2/3 cups of water in a measuring cup and then added an envelope of Kool-Ade.

Caden got to stir the color
The messy part:  We placed the eggs into the dye inside a muffin tin.  The first time, I poured too much dye.  The next attempt wasn't so messy.
They turned out great!
Caden's favorite--blue!

Story Time

We went to the local library to just play with the puzzles and toys, and they were having a special Easter story time.  We got there just in time to make a fun bunny craft!

Bunny cinnamon rolls

I saw this idea on Pinterest and thought I would try it out.  I bought a can of cinnamon rolls and shaped two into a bunny face and ears...

...added sprinkles
...and enjoyed!  Haha!  Caden asked for more while his mouth was stuffed with one. It reminded me of the game, "Chubby Bunny."

Bunnycake

I used a Wilson bunny cake tin that I inherited from Rhonda to make this bunny cake.  It was carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.  Next time, I am sprinkling flour on the tin so that the cake pops out seamlessly.  The cake fell apart when I popped it out because I used spray.  I was able to cover up the cracks with some frosting.

I made this cake on a Thursday that we meet for supper with Ashley and James.  The kids loved it! Thankfully, they didn't notice any flaws.  :)

Aunt Robbie's birthday

We celebrated Aunt Robbie's birthday the Wednesday before Easter at Rosa's restaurant.  Both she and Sally had brought Easter baskets for the kids.
