The best sister in the world made this wreath for me. My nieces helped. I told her she should go into business making wreaths.

The ultrasound!

Can't wait to find out whether boy or girl!!! Note the stains on my shirt? No kidding, it seems like pregnant people attract stains.

The grandmas. Nana on the left and Gigi on the right. The first grandchild for Gigi, the sixth for Nana.
Here we are, happily showing off the first pictures!!

My baby bump-2 months

This is a recent pic of my belly (as of tonight). I titled this my 2 month pic because we forgot to take one at 2 months. This is the biggest I've seen it. However, some nights it will look big and then the next morning it seems to have shrunk!

Our baby at 6 weeks!

Here is an ultrasound pic of our baby at 6 weeks (6 weeks ago). Doesn't he/she look like me? :)

It's been too long!

I'm so sorry my fellow blog readers! I have let you down in keeping up with my blog. I hope you haven't given up on me. Pregnancy has had me very tired every afternoon after school. I have taken about a 3 hour nap after school regularly until this week. Also, with the holidays and family, etc. Yes, I am now 12 weeks! I can stop worrying so much now about every little cramp.

My week

Yesterday began my bout with mild morning sickness. I was eating a cinnamon roll and gagged. I also gagged a lot this morning. Thank goodness I'm not throwing up! Also, I was VERY tired this afternoon. I could barely drag myself home. I don't like having to tutor after dealing with kids all day. I missed the PTA meeting tonight, but I'm sure they made it just fine without me.

Breaking the news to Brad's family

Happy Thanksgiving to all! There is so much that we have to be thankful for this year. I thank God for family and friends and of course our little baby. We broke the news to Brad's side of the family tonight. We went over to Brad's Aunt Robbi's and cousins and Mammaw and aunts and uncles were there as we ate a delicious thanksgiving meal. Sally called everyone together and Brad told everyone "Well, I told Cara to eat a lot because she's eating for two now!" Everyone squealed and was so excited. Keri (married to Brad's cousin Grant), offered her maternity clothes. She is about my size and her baby-Gavyn-is 3 months old. My Aunt Robbi, Sally and Keri even discussed doing a shower for me! Exciting!

Our six weeks pregnant photo

Sally had this great idea to document each stage of the pregnancy by taking a picture next to a holiday decoration. This is our first. That flat tummy will not be flat any longer in the next nine months. There is a lot of growing to do! I need to eat healthy and eat a lot! Please pray that I eat the right foods for our growing baby.

Sharing preggo news with my parents...

After sharing the great news with Sally, we went over to my parents house. They had just gotten back from preaching in France. We told them we wanted to see them because Brad won't be able to see them tomorrow for Thanksgiving. I handed them a gift bag and told them that it was their coming-home present. Inside were two bibs-one with "I love grandpa," the other with "I love grandma." Both were very excited to hear the news. We rejoiced together and prayed for the health of the baby. Please pray for our child that he/she develops normally and always serves the Lord.

More preggo news

After sharing the news with my brother Mark (he was extremely excited), I went to Cracker Barrel to get this very cute suitcase that says "Ready or Not Grandma, Here I Come!" We presented it to Sally (Brad's mom) tonight as the three of us ate Subway. She was very happy! She is going to be thinking of a name for our baby to call her.

I'm pregnant!!!

Yes. It's true. I found out yesterday (Tuesday morning). I woke up, took a pregnancy test and cautiously walked over to see the result and there it was--two pink lines. I woke Brad up and told him and he was excited. I also called Rhonda and she screamed! I called a few other very close friends to share the good news. I wasn't late to work despite all of this. That evening, I went over to Rhonda's (Brad was working late) and ate dinner with them so I could tell my nieces (Brianna and Melody). Rhonda had already told Royce. I casually brought up babysitting and mentioned "Are you girls still planning on babysitting for mine and Brad's child?" They said, "Of course." I told them, "Well, you will have a child to babysit in about 9 months!" They held their spoon in mid-air and were wide-eyed and mouths open! They both said, "You're pregnant?" Brianna even started tearing up a little. I love sharing this news. We confirmed the test with a lab test today. Another lab will follow on Friday. I give full glory to God because this is an answer to prayer!! Above is the picture of the test that started all of the excitement...
